Here is the inspiration and reason why I created the Beaut Optician Blog, and a little bit about myself and my family!
I was truly inspired by many other beauty and fashion bloggers, youtube personalities, and instagram superstars. Boss women! I have such tremendous respect for women entrepreneurs, and knew deep down in my gut that I wanted to create something that I could be excited and proud of. I wanted to channel some creative energy in a positive way that could inform and potentially help others as well. I cannot wait to share beauty advice, optical fashion, lifestyle finds, and to simply get you excited about products and trends that I'm excited over!
There is also something so personal about a blog. I was honestly scared to start this for about a year, I told myself, who would even want to read it and this is a dumb idea. I finally dismissed that negative voice in my head a year later, and here we are now. Just remember, there are no dumb ideas and nothing happens overnight. You must not be afraid to start from scratch and see where your project takes you.
I've always liked to talk, just ask my husband. The voice within this blog is truly mine, and I hope you follow this journey with me.
Past, Present and Future
I have been an Optician for about 3 years now. My husband is currently in his 3rd year of Optometry School at SCO in Memphis, TN. We talk a lot about eyeballs and glasses now, maybe too much on a daily basis. I needed a job fast when we moved from Pittsburgh to Memphis for his schooling, and I guess you could say the world of optical found me. I really do enjoy my job as an Optician, it allows me to style so many different faces as well as problem solve and help people be able to see this gorgeous world! My husband and I both come from artistic backgrounds. He used to work as a photographer and tv producer and I was singer, actress and dancer. Moving to Memphis from Pittsburgh was a huge change to say the least. We have one year left in Memphis and then we will be off to Newport, Rhode Island and Phoenix, Arizona for his externships. It is scary and exciting what will happen in the future! With all the moving we are going to be doing, what better way to have a blog that I can do anywhere and anytime! I am so excited to get this off the ground and see what it will morph into overtime.
